Growth & Decay is an album inspired by transitions, endings, and new beginnings. Deep in these seemingly separate occurrences, Growth & Decay sets the scene at their intersection. Here we find that these parts are all segments of the same greater structure, and function with and because of each other. This recording is emcee, DJ, and producer Graphic Melee’s 24th solo album blending his unrelenting lyricism with the dense heavy production signature to his sound. 

Growth & Decay consists of 11 tracks rooted in exploring through words and sound what it truly means to just exist in these times. Graphic Melee verbally guides the listener on a diverse sonic journey accented by a sole instrumental track while keeping on display the idea of opposition in unison first presented during the introductory title track. 

So what is a flower with out the dirt? The answer to that question ultimately is inconsequential once the observation can be made that they are one and the same. They are simply being viewed at interconnected, yet different stages of a transition through time. Growth & Decay is the beauty in the ugly and the ugly in the beautiful.
